“Let’s Make It”: Bambu Lab and Insta360 Join Forces on MakerWorld to Launch the Luna Ultra Design Challenge

This collaboration marks the first open customization for camera hardware, providing the maker community with official Luna Ultra design files to unleash imagination and win the latest products from both brands.

 

Bambu Lab and Insta360 announced on July 10 the official launch of their co-marketing partnership, along with the "Insta360 Luna Ultra Design Challenge" on MakerWorld. Running from July 10, 2026, through August 9, 2026, this initiative releases open-access 3MF and STL files to enable creators to build perfectly fitted camera accessories, democratizing accessory customization. With the launch of its official brand page, Insta360 has also become the first camera brand to establish an official presence on MakerWorld.

Expanding Camera Accessory Customization via 3D Printing

"Think Bold. Print Bold."—This is the core spirit driving Insta360 and Bambu Lab in this first-of-its-kind collaboration. The partnership empowers creators with the freedom to think outside the box, elevating the experience from merely operating a camera to crafting personalized appearances using custom-built gear. By breaking past the limitations of off-the-shelf parts, creators can now build exclusive, user-centric setups tailored to their personal taste or shooting environment.

Official 3MF and STL design files for the Luna Ultra are now available for free download on MakerWorld, allowing anyone to start building and 3D printing custom hardware around the camera body right away.

How the Challenge Works

To celebrate this collaboration, Insta360 and Bambu Lab have launched a dual-track contest designed to engage designers, engineers, and creatives alike. Participants can join either track or enter both:

Track A: Model Design Challenge

Created specifically for 3D designers and engineers. Create and upload your work tagged with #PrintForLuna. Download the official Luna Ultra 3MF or STL design files on MakerWorld to design and upload precision-fitted physical camera gear. Submissions are primarily categorized into two main groups:

• Practical Add-ons (Stabilization mounts, rig kits, advanced creative tools)
• Creative Mods (Aesthetic shells, fun holiday themes, stylized upgrades)

With the "One-Click Print" feature on MakerWorld and the Bambu Handy App, users worldwide can bring these community-designed assets to life instantly.

Track B: Community Content Challenge

Designed for creators, videographers, and imaging enthusiasts. Share your original Luna Ultra rigs, DIY mods, hand-drawn design concepts, or creative accessory ideas on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, or Reddit (r/Insta360).

Submissions can take the form of photos, videos, or written ideas, and can be captured using any camera gear. To enter, include the hashtags #PrintForLuna, #BambuLab, and #Insta360LunaUltra in your posts. Follow Bambu Lab's official social media accounts for full details and updates regarding this challenge.

Prizes and Timeline

Across both contest tracks, a total of 40 joint prizes are available, featuring a rich reward lineup that includes hardware rewards, gift cards, and coupons worth up to $11,160 in total value.

Top creators will win the ultimate setups combining the latest offerings from both companies: the Insta360 Luna Ultra camera paired with either the Bambu Lab X2D Combo or the Bambu Lab A2L Combo 3D printer.

The submission window runs for one month (July 10 through August 9). Prizes will be announced periodically during the challenge, with the final winners list revealed on August 20, 2026.
