A two-stage continuous dust collection system designed for desktop CNC milling, combining cyclone separation, multi-stage filtration, low-noise operation, and smart control functions to help maintain a clean processing environment and reduce mid-process cleaning.
Makera's dual dust collection system (cyclone separation + multi-stage filtration) captures debris during processing, eliminating cleaning pauses and allowing your CNC machine to operate virtually debris-free.
Makera leads the way in developing a professional-grade cyclone separation system for desktop CNC machine tools – diverting 97% of large chips directly to the dust collection bin before reaching the filter – extending filter life by 3 times and enabling uninterrupted operation without worrying about clogging or frequent filter replacement.
Pre-filter sponge, 99.99% HEPA filter, and activated carbon – captures almost all fine dust while neutralizing odors, ensuring you breathe easier and create in clean air, leading to healthier creations.
Blocks larger dust and debris first, reducing the load on subsequent filters.
Further captures fine dust and suspended particles generated during processing.
Helps neutralize odors during processing, improving air quality in the workspace.
Max 70 dB – significantly quieter than any other external vacuum cleaner.
Operate comfortably at home, in the office, or classroom without ear fatigue or disturbing others.
The Makera Controller App gives you full control over the dust collection system, for peace of mind. You can fine-tune suction or switch power remotely via Wi-Fi.
*Please note that the app can only control the dust collector when it is connected to a CNC machine.
G-code automation triggers CNC synchronized dust collection start/stop, allowing you to leave with peace of mind – eliminating the hassle of dust accumulation after a project and letting you fully focus on creation.
| Comparison Item | Makera Cyclone Dust Collector | General Household Vacuum Cleaner |
|---|---|---|
| Intended Use | Designed for desktop CNC machining, ensuring clean, quiet, and worry-free operation during long processing times. | Suitable for household cleaning or short-term workshop debris removal, not for long-term use. |
| Suction System | Utilizes cyclone separation technology for continuous processing. Professional-grade cyclone system supports 24/7 operation for uninterrupted CNC machining. Captures 97% of large debris before it enters the filter, extending filter life and reducing maintenance costs. | Only has standard suction; prolonged use may cause motor overheating. |
| Filtration System | Triple filtration system: Pre-filter → 99.99% HEPA filter → Activated carbon filter. Removes fine dust and toxic odors, neutralizes fumes from laser engraving, and maintains air quality in the workspace. | Basic filters require frequent replacement, poor filtration of fine particles, and ineffective filtration of odors from processing. |
| Noise Level | Maximum 70 dB, approximately equivalent to normal conversation volume. Reduces operator fatigue and auditory stress, providing a quieter, more efficient working environment for long CNC machining operations. | 85 dB or higher, harsh sound that may cause hearing damage. |
| Dust Collection Capacity | Equipped with a 6 L dust collection bin, suitable for continuous processing and maintaining an uninterrupted workflow. Independent filter design allows for quick and efficient cleaning. | Capacity of approximately 2-20 L; cleaning process is more cumbersome and prone to mess. |
| Compatibility | Designed for desktop CNC machines, suitable for materials such as wood, metal, plastic, and fiber. In most cases, it can also be used as an air purification device for laser engravers. | Only suitable for removing dust and debris; not designed for various processing materials, nor can it be used as an air purification device. |
| Control Method | Supports button, App control, and G-code trigger. Seamlessly integrates with CNC via G-code for automatic on/off functions, and allows for precise manual control as needed. | Only manual control via physical buttons. |
| Power | Features a 200 W motor optimized for continuous operation. Smart cooling system maintains stable power during hours of processing, preventing motor burnout. | Motor may fail and performance may decline with prolonged use. |
| Dimensions/Design | Compact size: 300 × 218 × 354 mm. Can be neatly placed next to the machine without bulky hoses or dust bins, maximizing workspace utilization. | Bulky dust bins and hoses take up a lot of space, not suitable for workshops with limited space. |

Yes, the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector is compatible with both: Carvera Air and Carvera. The dust hose outlet size matches the dust collection interface reserved on these machines.
Please note that for the original Carvera, as there is no reserved expansion port, you will need to manually control the dust collector's start/stop and airflow. An upgrade kit is planned for future release to enable automatic control.
Yes, it can be used with other machines, but we do not recommend using it for large, high-power CNC machines (spindle power over 500W).
It is very suitable for small desktop CNC machines. The Makera Cyclone's hose interface is designed to match Makera, so you may need to machine or 3D print an adapter to connect it to your own CNC machine.
Unlike ordinary household vacuum cleaners, the Makera Cyclone Dust Collector operates with lower noise and uses a high-pressure centrifugal fan, making it more suitable for long-term continuous operation.
It employs cyclone separation + multi-stage filtration technology, which causes less wear on the filter element, is less prone to clogging, and maintains stable suction.
Additionally, it can be linked with CNC machines for automatic start and stop and airflow adjustment, minimizing manual intervention.
Although its 200W motor is smaller than that of household vacuum cleaners (usually over 1000W) and its absolute suction is lower, our tests show that its airflow and suction are perfectly sufficient for desktop CNC machining needs.
This depends on your material and cutting volume. Based on our tests:
For non-metallic materials like wood and plastic: 60–70% airflow is sufficient.
For denser metals: 80%–100% airflow is recommended.
This depends on your processing frequency, duration, and type of material being processed.
Generally, the lighter and finer the debris, the lower the separation efficiency of the cyclone separator, and the more easily dust will enter the filter and filter element.
We recommend checking and cleaning the filter approximately every 30 hours of cumulative dust collection time to ensure optimal performance.
This depends on your processing frequency, duration, and type of material being processed.
We recommend replacing the filter element approximately every 300 hours of cumulative processing dust collection time.
However, the actual replacement frequency may vary depending on usage. If you notice blockages, reduced suction, or persistent odors, you should replace the filter element as soon as possible.
Yes, the Cyclone Dust Collector was also designed to double as an air purifier for laser engraving. It can be used in most situations with Carvera or Carvera Air.
