FAQ1. What is the difference between the P3 and P2 series?
P2 (Smart Creation Laser): Geared towards creative professionals, focusing on simplifying complex creative processes through intelligent features.
P3 (Efficient Production Laser): Geared towards small-scale business production, focusing on speed and efficiency to maximize commercial output.
The P3 features comprehensive and significant upgrades over the P2 series in three core dimensions: industrial performance and material capability, intelligence and automation, and safety.
Industrial Performance and Material CapabilityPower and Function: The P3 uses a stronger 80W CO₂ laser (55W for P2S) and features an optional 5W infrared (IR) laser module. The dual-laser configuration enables the P3 to engrave/mark on metal and plastic.
Size and Speed: The P3 has 2.3 times the working area of the P2S and a significantly higher maximum speed (1200 mm/s).
Intelligence and AutomationCore Workflow: The P3 introduces the ACS™ intelligent workflow, integrating auto-positioning, autofocus, and an auto-lift base to minimize manual intervention.
Safety System
The P3 comes standard with a built-in active CO₂ fire extinguishing system; on the P2S, this critical protection requires a separate purchase of a fire safety kit.
The P3 achieves a major leap in safety, obtaining Class 1 laser safety certification, while the P2S is a Class 4 device. The P3's top-tier safety comes from its multi-layered system design: integrating upgraded high-precision sensing (8 infrared sensors, a temperature sensor, and side cameras) with advanced visual algorithms, whereas the P2S relies primarily on camera recognition.
2. What is the Automated Creation System™ (ACS™)?
The revolutionary ACS™ workflow equipped on the P3 is designed to let users completely break free from tedious manual settings, realizing an ultimate "place and go" convenience. It includes the synergistic operation of auto-positioning, autofocus, and the auto-lift base.
The revolutionary ACS™ (Automated Creation System) workflow on the P3 is designed to let users completely break free from tedious manual settings, achieving the ultimate convenience of "put material and go." It lets technology serve creativity rather than act as a hindrance, ensuring every creation is precise, flawless, and smooth.
The workflow realizing hardware synergy includes:
Auto-positioning: Just close the lid. The high-resolution dual-lens system (16MP SkyView camera and close-up detail camera) instantly captures a real-time image of the entire workspace, allowing you to precisely align your design to the material in the software.
Autofocus: The advanced laser ranging system measures the precise distance to the material surface.
Auto-lift base: Brings the material to the perfect focal point, ensuring perfect results every time—no manual tools required.
3. What new materials can the P3 process?
Thanks to its new modular capability (optional 5W IR laser), it is the first xTool CO₂ model capable of directly engraving on plastic as well as metals like stainless steel and aluminum.
4. What are the maximum dimensions and height of objects the P3 can process?
Working Area: The standard working area of the xTool P3 is 915 mm × 458 mm, about 2.3 times that of the P2S, easily handling large projects or more efficient mass production. For projects requiring extra-long material processing, the P3 is compatible with an optional smart conveyor feeder, enabling processing of virtually unlimited material length.
Processable Material Thickness (Height): Unlike the older P2 series which requires separate purchase of a manual riser base, the P3 comes standard with a built-in AutoLift base (max load 35.3 lbs/16 kg), providing 220 mm of vertical space, allowing for direct engraving on bulky items like briefcases and gift boxes.
Is a riser base purchase required?: No. The auto-lift base is standard.
5. What are the upgrades for the RA3 compared to the RA2 Pro?
The RA3 is a revolutionary upgrade to the RA2 Pro, crafted into a smarter, faster, and more powerful professional-grade production system.
Smarter: Introduces intelligent workflows, including rotary mode recognition, 360° LiDAR modeling, and 3D preview. It eliminates guesswork and trial-and-error, making seamless full-circumference engraving on complex rotating objects like vases possible.
Faster: Adopts a MagSwap™ design, enabling tool-free swaps in seconds, turning what used to be a minute-long installation into a matter of seconds; engraving speed is increased by up to 2.4 times. *
More Powerful: Adds a unique batch processing feature to assist business expansion, and provides larger, more stable clamping capability to fit larger diameter cylindrical workpieces.
* Note: The 2.4x speed is based on testing on the xTool P2S with the RA2 Pro.
