Maker Faire Tokyo 2026 Post-Show Review | 3DMart Connects Creativity and Manufacturing with Professional 3D Printing Technology
From September 5th to 6th, 2026, Tokyo Ariake GYM-EX once again gathered Makers, creators, engineers, designers, and tech enthusiasts from all over Japan to participate in Maker Faire Tokyo 2026.
3DMart also participated in this important Maker event in Japan, showcasing Bambu Lab, Snapmaker, and Formlabs 3D printing equipment at booth SP-05-02. Through live demonstrations and on-site interactions, we engaged directly with the Japanese Maker community.
For 3DMart, participating in Maker Faire Tokyo was not just about showcasing products, but also an opportunity to bring years of accumulated professional 3D printing experience to the Maker scene.

Bambu Lab: Making 3D Printing Part of the Creative Process
For Makers, one of the greatest appeals of 3D printing is its ability to quickly transform digital designs into physical objects.
Bambu Lab has rapidly gained attention from creators in the desktop FDM 3D printing field in recent years. Its high-speed printing, smart operation, and multi-color printing capabilities lower the barrier for users from design to finished product.
At an event like Maker Faire Tokyo, which centers around "creation," Bambu Lab represents a fast, intuitive, and highly creative 3D printing experience.
Through on-site demonstrations, 3DMart allowed visitors to directly observe the equipment in operation and discuss materials, printing methods, and application needs.
This experience of "seeing the equipment directly and discussing applications directly" was also one of the most valuable parts of the exhibition.
Snapmaker U1: Rethinking Multi-Color and Multi-Material Printing
This time, 3DMart showcased the Snapmaker, focusing on the Snapmaker U1.
The U1's biggest feature is its four independent tool heads, which switch via the SnapSwap™ system. Each tool head can be pre-loaded with different materials or colors, with switching times as fast as approximately 5 seconds.
Compared to traditional multi-color printing, which requires repeatedly changing materials through the same nozzle, the U1's design offers an alternative solution for multi-color and multi-material printing.
Furthermore, the four independent tool heads also allow users to select different materials for different areas, such as pairing model material with support material, or utilizing different material properties to create parts with different functionalities.
Snapmaker U1's Creative Flexibility
- Four independent tool heads, pre-configurable with different materials or colors
- SnapSwap™ tool head switching design
- Applicable for multi-color and multi-material 3D printing
- CoreXY motion system
- Maximum printing speed up to 500 mm/s
- Build volume of 270 × 270 × 270 mm
The U1 also features a CoreXY motion system, with a maximum printing speed of up to 500 mm/s and a build volume of 270 × 270 × 270 mm.
For Makers, this design brings not just more colors, but more possibilities for material combinations and creative approaches.
3DMart's decision to bring the U1 to Maker Faire Tokyo allowed on-site visitors to directly experience this new type of multi-material printing solution.
Formlabs: From Maker Creation to Professional-Grade Manufacturing
If Bambu Lab and Snapmaker U1 demonstrate the possibilities of FDM 3D printing in creation and multi-material applications, then Formlabs represents another direction — high-precision and professional-grade resin 3D printing.
Formlabs has long specialized in SLA 3D printing technology, and its products are widely used in product development, engineering prototypes, manufacturing aids, consumer products, and low-volume production.
The Form 4, in particular, uses Low Force Display™ (LFD) printing technology, featuring a 50 μm pixel size and a highly consistent optical system, emphasizing fine detail, surface quality, and dimensional accuracy. Official data indicates that most print jobs can be completed within two hours.
This positions Formlabs differently from typical desktop FDM printers primarily focused on rapid prototyping or personal creation.
For users who require higher precision, finer surfaces, and engineering-grade materials, SLA offers a different manufacturing philosophy.
Professionalism Goes Beyond Knowing Machine Specifications
For 3DMart, these three brands are not just a simple collection of products.
What truly matters is our ability to understand the differences between various technologies and help users find the right equipment and process based on their needs.
The choice of 3D printing equipment is never just about comparing speed, print size, or price.
Once it comes to practical application, it also involves materials, precision, surface quality, part strength, print quantity, post-processing methods, and whether there's a need for future process expansion.
Therefore, even a 3D printer with the highest specifications may not be the best choice if it doesn't meet the user's actual needs.
This is the professional value that 3DMart has accumulated over time.
Comprehensive Evaluation from Equipment to Practical Application
- Equipment selection and technology comparison
- Material and part requirement assessment
- Print precision and surface quality
- Functional prototype and actual part strength
- Print quantity and production efficiency
- Post-processing methods and workflow
- Subsequent processes and equipment expansion
From FDM to SLA, from individual Makers to professional product development, 3DMart continuously engages with users from different industries, scales, and technical needs.
What we offer is not just the equipment itself, but a complete service from equipment selection, material application, implementation, to subsequent technical support.
And Maker Faire Tokyo is a venue where these experiences can be directly validated.
For every question raised by a Maker, from "I want to make this creation" to "Can this material be printed?" and "If I need to produce more, what equipment should I use?", true professionalism shines through in addressing these practical issues.
From Tokyo, Continuously Connecting the Asian Maker Community
Maker Faire Tokyo brings together one of Japan's most active communities of creators and Makers.
For 3DMart, participating in such an event is not just about introducing the latest equipment to the market, but more importantly, directly listening to users' ideas.
These frontline exchanges are an important source for 3DMart to continuously accumulate technical and application experience.
From Taiwan, Hong Kong to Japan, 3DMart continues to engage with users in different markets, bringing high-quality global 3D printing and digital manufacturing technologies to the Asian market.
Thank You, Maker Faire Tokyo 2026
We thank all the Makers, creators, engineers, designers, and partners who visited, exchanged ideas, and discussed at 3DMart's SP-05-02 booth.
Every on-site interaction deepens our understanding of the technologies creators truly need and gives us the opportunity to bring more 3D printing technologies into actual creation and manufacturing scenarios.
In the future, 3DMart will continue to collaborate with excellent global 3D printing brands, offering more diverse equipment and comprehensive technical support, from consumer-grade creation and professional prototyping to more advanced manufacturing applications.
We aspire to be a trusted digital manufacturing partner, bridging the gap from "idea" to "physical object."
